I found this beautiful creature in the Butterfly House at Coffs Harbour. These Cairns Birdwing Butterflies are huge, and as they fly their wings flash gorgeous colours of blue and yellow. I fell in love and determined to paint this gorgeous fellow. I'll tell you a secret, he's actually supposed to be hanging sideways, as they land and hang on the leaves, but I like him this way.
